: Meanwhile, back at the ranch, what do you think of "Garden Shows" that include artists?

Depends on the show. My partner and I design the exhibits for the largest indoor flower show in the world (Philadelphia) and have referred several artist friends there whose work fits (brass watering cans, garden sculpture) and they reported good sales. There are a couple of painters who do that show every year and do well but they have built a following. Another friend did the Washington Flower show and bombed with floral design pottery. Again, scope out the show, esp. if it is a major investment in money, time, or travel. You need to have a line that is a little more than plants/flowers in theme. It should have some application to the gardening industry.
