John, you are too funny! (In a good way...) :^) During the storm of the century (I think this is the third "storm of the century" this winter, if memory serves)I took your advice. Sent confirmation letters saying I'd be calling to confirm shipping dates. Sent catalogs to the jewelry buyers who were "be-backs" (love that term). And I've already had to turn down one order and one be-back, because other galleries came in first & scooped them (which I didn't find out til I got home from the show & sorted everything out.) I *hope* the message will be, "Gee, if only you'd placed a big order that first day, like this other gallery did....!" Thanks for the reassurance on the cancellations, too. I only have one shop that's waffled, and I'm realizing that your advice is dead-on. This buyer either wants my stuff badly enough to return my phone calls, or it's always going to be like this. I figure this year I'll do amazing follow-up, to generate the most results I can possibly get from the show. And hope I'm too busy to do so next year!
