Thanks, John, for if nothing else confirming that there are more factors at work than mere mortals can really stay on top of.

:And some makers don't want to chase the volume/price/cost matrix to maximize their profits.

I'm mostly just unsure that I can fill in the volume/price/cost matrix, even roughly, in finite time. When even the weather can seem to have more effect on my sales than my pricing does, it's hard to consider things to be particularly equal.

:And just to make you crazy -- I have seen some of my own work start selling more briskly after raising the price.

More crazy, perhaps, but probably not.
