: You need to write your proposal, outline of what you plan to do. Then based on this, you begin the research of organizations which could fund what you're proposing. One point of purchase are the various volumes maintained by The Foundation Center, out of Washington, DC. The books are geared for the funding for the arts, education, historical preservation, etc. Once you learn if you have 'the right criteria' for a certain company or foundation, then you learn more about them; their particular hoops. That looks to be the "Mother Lode". Found out much already. I'm looking for the
the ones that are Jewish "historical" and found many good resources.
