No, she cleverly hid all the bad information!
Word of mouth is the best reference in these parts. Usually when I hire someone, I ask my other employees if they know the person. They check around and within a couple days I usually have all the information I need, but on this woman I didn't until her replacement came along. The new girl knew a lot about her, and opened a whole other can of worms.
I try not to make judgment calls on how a person "looks", you know what I mean? Sometimes you have to trust your instincts, even if there seems to be no reason. ;)
