Frustrations with sales reps - options?

My company makes a wide variety of giftwares, including desk accessories, bookmarks, etc. We have one sales rep who is fantastic but the others are all the same - they want a lot of show fees on top of their commissions and they never seem to sell much either on the road or at the shows. Our work is not "crafty" or "arty" enough to sell at ACC or similar shows but on the other hand, I'm not sure that I could sell enough at a major gift show to pay for the cost involved. Any suggestions on alternate marketing strategies or ways to get more sale out of the reps?
