Hello Heidi
I am from South Africa and run a small craft supply outlet. My experience has been since the wholesale outlets here are few and far between most of them also have a retail outlet. Most of my serious craft customers know of these retail outlets. This means that products I have purchased at wholesale for resale from them cannot be marked up for more than their retail outlet is selling them for. Some times the markup is as little as 10%. Make sure your wholesale customers can achieve a reasonable profit from your products. The wholesale policy has to be strictly enforced. I have found a few places that profess to wholesale only to bussinesses but upon further inquiry require no bussiness i.d. and have no minimum order amount. My criteria for judjing a true wholesaler with loyalty to its wholesale customers is based on 3 questions.
1. What business id is required?
2.What is your minimum purchase amount(if it is very low think twice. You don't want to meet one of your customers in the isle)
3. What is the % price difference from the retail outlet.
