: Deb, you are probably a bit more experienced in the crafts business part of being an artist than I am. This is all a big new adventure for me.

: I have a small line of contemporary jewelry with a strong ethnographic influence.

: Prior to getting some advice, I simply had all my work tied up in two local galleries on consignment, would wait till other galleries called me for work and maybe I could send them something, maybe not. I honestly thought that all galleries were on consignment, since they all are here.

: All the while, there was as much business in wholesale sales waiting for me as I earned locally that I was unable to access.

: So, I'll be talking to my accounts more, but not every day. I'll be learning who thier clients are, and if my sales figures are in line with thier ideas of what they can do with my work. I'll be giving them tools to get the work they want, such as catalogue sheets, and more personal contact with me.

Annie,
Why do you say you were unable to access wholesale sales? What was the barrier, how did you overcome it? I am not trying to be nosey I really want to understand.
Thanks muchly, Deb E
