e-commerce hosting

I built a website under Bigstep, an umbrella hosting company that gives tools and lots of Kbytes and even e-commerce for as little as $25 a month (if you don't want the e-commerce it's all free). Looked like a deal and it's been great for my tight budget. However, there are restrictions, like the number of metatags you can add to your frontpage (and the interior pages, well, you can't put metatags.) Metatags, you know, are important if you want to be found by search engines. In one of his Newsletters, John mentioned that there are e-commerce hostings for as little as $50 dollars, including e-commerce. The cheapest I could find was Yahoo!, but it's $150 per month (including the merchant account), and you still are sort of captive within their mall. Where should I look? Are they good? (I mean, how often do they crash?) Any advise will be much appreciated.
